Hey there, Niki here today with Print and Cut Dreamcatchers. I love the idea of Dreamcatchers and I saw this Print and Cut file in the Design Store and couldn't resist making a layout with it.
I started off my opening the design in Silhouette Studio but it wasn't quite what I expected. I like print and cut files to leave a small border around the design and to perhaps cut out large areas in the centre of a design, but I was not expeciting it to cut out all those little bits... So I ungrouped and released the compound path, put the watercolour image to one side and cleaned up the cut file ie removing the circle in the middle as well as all the small bits.
Once I was happy with my cut lines, I then resized, changed the size of my mat to A4 and added the registration marks.
I still wanted a small border around my dreamcatcher so used the Offset tool, which I then set to 0.060:
I then removed the original cut file (now the file sitting over to the left) and put the water coloured image back inside the cut lines - this has given me a lovely little border.
I then grouped the image and the cut file together, then multiplied and re-sized several times until I had lots of dreamcatchers.
I then printed the design onto A4 cardstock, then loaded the card onto my cutting mat and cut them out - this Print and Cut feature never fails to amaze me!
So now for the fun part - building my layout! I used a speciality vellum mounted onto white card, and arranged my gorgeous dream catchers. I also cut a title using another design from the Design Store.
Thanks so much for stopping by and may your dreams be beautiful xx
