Just too cute, using the silhouette to create a stencil

Hiiii

Caroline back with you today with a sort of scrapbook page but using my Travellers Notebook instead...

I knew I wanted to document a gorgeous photo of my miniature schnauzer, Florence's paw prints in the sand. I decided to add some texture to the left hand page so chose an adorable design that fit the theme perfectly...

I made the design the size I wanted and cut the design from just ordinary yellow card stock as I only needed to use the stencil once.

The next stage was to design my page and decide where I wanted the design to be. I mixed up some yellow and orange gelato by just scraping some flakes off it into some texture paste...

Next I placed my stencil and popped the mix on the top - you can choose to have a smooth finish but I decided to leave it heavily textured to reflect the photo image. I used a plastic spatula but a knife would do the same job. You can use washi tape to hold the stencil in place, I just held it whilst I applied the paste...

It's such a simple technique but really packs a punch, creating depth and interest to the page.

Here are some more pictures for you...

I hope you have found this useful, you can see that you really don't need to worry about using card stock as a stencil, you could also spray mist through it too.

Thanks for taking the time to read this

'Til next time

C x
