Custom Stamp making using the Silhouette Mint

Hi!, Bev here with a tutorial on making your own customised stamp using the Silhouette Mint.  I love this machine and it literally allows you to create any stamp you can think of. The possibilities are endless and it is the perfect size for taking out with you

What you will need:
  • Silhouette Mint Machine
  • Silhouette Stamp Kit
  • Silhouette Ink
Step One:

Firstly open up the Mint Software and choose your stamp size.  Select the font tool and write what you would like your stamp to say.  I chose Steps and Sleep as I thought this would be a good way to track that health information daily in my planner.  Select the font you would like and then click on the scale tool.  You can select fit to stamp and it will resize the words for you to ensure they print perfectly onto the stamp.

Step Two

Take your mint stamp sheet and select the mint icon in the top righthand corner of the screen.  Start mint and feed your stamp sheet through the back on the machine.  It will automatically receive the sheet and it will come out of the front with your design on it.  The great thing about the mint software is that it will flip it automatically for you so it will always print the correct way around.

Step Three

Break along the perforated seam and remove the black sheet from the cardboard.  In the kit you also get a white plastic casing for the sheet and when you remove the paper you can then back the sheet onto the casing.  Take your ink bottle and squeeze a generous amount of ink onto the stamp.  The Mint technology means that the ink will only be absorbed into the grey areas so you don't have to be too precise.  Leave to absorb for as long as possible, and then with a piece of scrap paper begin to stamp out the excess ink until you get a clean image.

And there you have it! your new customised stamp ready to use and it will last for around 50 impressions before it will need re inking! The possibilities really are endless with this lovely little machine.  I can not wait to see what you create with it!

  1. Thanks Bev...glad to find another fan! Had my Mint for a few months but was waiting for Santa to bring me more supplies. I have a "hand made....." stamp for my cards but love that little one...lovely to pop onto all sorts of things. Can't wait to try!
