Scrapbooking with Steph - Paige Taylor Evans - Diagonal Stripes background
Hello all and welcome to this weeks blog post!
So I found this lovely background cutfile searching under Paige Evans in the Silhouette Store https://www.silhouettedesignstore.com/designs/219450?search=diagonol+stripes+background&sortby=relevance&submitted_search=true and cut it out of textured card on the textured card stock setting passing through twice and then trimmed it down to 11.5 x 11.5 inches. I flipped it over and covered the back with foam risers before backing the whole piece with another piece of textured card stock (this time a pink piece!)
I found a sheet of colour block card in my stash which I gutted to create a 1" boarder and attached my backed cutfile onto this.
I put that to one side whilst I fussy cut lots of circles from a Maggie Holmes paper and again placed this on foam risers before sticking them to the cutfile. I had some chipboard frames, one which I put my photo inside and the other I popped under it to give the layout more depth.
I attached a few more chipboard accents. With the buttons I added floss bows before sticking them down and lastly I added my two titles "Embrace Life",a pink plastic perspective saying "Fierce" and some enamel hearts to complete the layout!
Thank you very much for reading! Please if you scraplift we would love to see your work :) please tag us on our Instagram page silhouette_uk!
Until next time....happy scrapping!!

Save the Date fridge magnets using Adhesive Magnet Sheets
Hello, Hello Silhouette Friends - this week the DT have been tasked with using Adhesive Magnet Sheets in their projects with a wedding theme and I thought that it would be fun to make some 'Save The Date' fridge magnets.
I started by making my magnet holder - this was really simple and is a rounded corner rectangle measuring 3.75in x 7.75in. I then added score lines at 2.75in and 5.5in.
I drew a .75in circle and split it into two using the knife tool. I added these to the middle section of my card to hold the magnet.
For decoration I chose a print and cut flower design which I resized to fit my magnet holder and cut two for each holder.
I added one to the small flap and then aligned the second underneath that one on the larger flap so when closed the second one is hidden by the first.
Now for the magnet.
For the front, I drew a rounded corner rectangle measuring 2.25 in tall and 3.5 in wide. Next I resized the print and cut flower from above and added to my rectangle, remembering to turn off the cut edge on the Send panel. I wrote my text using Beautiful Dreamer font and used the colour picker to make it the same green as on the leaves, adding a green border- not forgetting to set the cut lines to no cut. I gave it a small offset and multiplied by six to fill my page. I then printed this out on a piece of card.
To make the magnets, remove all but the cut lines from the magnet front design and cut from the Adhesive Magnet Sheet. Remove the white backing from the magnet and add the magnet front.
All that was left was to pop a magnet into my holder and tie it with a piece of pretty baker's twine ready to post to the lucky recipients.

Bird House Wedding Table Setting - Using Silhouette Chipboard
Hello, hello Karen here with a new Wednesday post. This week the DT are focussing on using Silhouette Chipboard with a wedding theme.
Now, the chipboard is not as thick as standard chipboard but more like Kraft card. With this in mind I decided to make a cute little bird house favour box and then was inspired to make a co-ordinating place card
which then led to making a napkin ring!
I started with the bird house cut file and resized it to 7.5 ins wide so I could to get two onto one piece of 12 x 12 chipboard.
I then copied it and used the knife tool to remove all but the front of the bird house.
To this I added a name using Sisters Sketch font and placed on my design with the two bird house boxes.
The last thing to do was to make the napkin ring. I used the place card and reduced it to 66 percent. I did the same for the roof and added these to my design along with a 1 inch strip for the ring.
Next I laid out my flowers, leaves and two easel's to stand the place cards on.
I added four pieces of different coloured card to my mat along with a piece of chipboard and cut them out in one go.
All that remained was to glue my items together and ink all the edges before adding the flowers and some silver glittery stickers.
I thought it would be fun to fill the little bird house favour box with eggs - and it was!

Design of the Week - Orange Waves - 10th April 2019 - Filling a Title with a Pattern
Hello, hello - Karen here with my usual Wednesday post. The free design this week is a printable pattern called Orange Waves.
I chose this Paige Evans title to use with a photo I took recently of my daughter and her 'fur baby' as I thought it summed her up perfectly.
It is really, really easy to fill a shape with pattern!
First open your shape - in this case it was my title.
1. Open the Fill Panel
2. Choose Fill Pattern
3. Scroll down to the pattern you wish to use and click on the pattern.
Once you have done this your shape will be filled with the pattern. I noticed on my one that because the 'o' from TO and the 'o' from HOME are joined the pattern was smaller in those but I don't mind as it gives the title a little extra detail.
Next I opened a new page and resized it to A4 as I only have an A4 printer,
I turned on my registration marks and added the title to this page, gave it a 0.05 offset and resized it so that it fitted inside the red cut lines.
I printed and cut my title.
I then decided that I wanted to write a border with sketch pens and added this design, reduced and replicated around my page. I chose this one as it fitted nicely with the theme of my page and would translate well to be used with a sketch pen.
Finally I used this design to print and cut some butterflies. I printed the design out once as it is and once flipped horizontally to give me a verity of butterflies. I chose the ones that had colours similar to those in my photo and the title.
I hope I have inspired you to try filling shapes as it gives you a lot more scope for the designs you have.
