Notebook cover using beautiful Silhouette Leatherette

Hi! Bev here with a tutorial using the Silhouette Leatherette Sheets.  They come in a pack of 3 and are beautiful to work with.

What you will need
  • Silhouette Cameo® or Silhouette Portrait®
  • Silhouette Leatherette Sheets
  • Thin elastic
  • Notebooks
Step One

Firstly you should draw a rounded rectangle in the Silhouette Studio® and use the scale setting to create a box 6inches in height and 10 inches in width

Using the elipse tool, create a small circle and replicate this five times to create the 5 holes that the elastics will be threaded through.

Find the centre of the box and place one of the circles in that spot.  I used a straight line to ensure that I placed the other circles near the edge but also in the centre of the box.

Select all of the elements and group together

Step Two

Select the cut settings, and for this material I used the glitter vinyl option and tweaked the settings to ensure a clean cut.

Step Three

Once cut the Leatherette will look like this

Using the elastic, thread through from the inside, out and back through to the inside of the Leatherette, up, along and back down again.  Secure with a knot

Doubling over a piece of elastic, thread through from the inside to create a loop on the outside of the notebook and secure with a knot on the inside

Add the notebooks in by finding the centre of the book and placing under each elastic

Close the notebook cover and place the elastic loop over the top to the centre and your notebook cover is complete!

I have really enjoyed sharing with you and can't wait to see what you create with this beautiful Leatherette!
