Design of the Week - Fun in the Sun

Hi Bev here, with a project I created using the free Fun in the Sun file of the week!

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
  • Free design of the week
  • Silhouette Cameo/ Portrait
  • Silhouette Flocked Heat Transfer Vinyl
  • Fabric
  • Sewing Machine
  • Ribbon
Step One

Open a new page in your Silhouette studio and bring in the free file downloadable from the Silhouette Store. Resize if necessary, and then flip horizontally to ensure that it cuts the correct way for vinyl.
Select the cut settings for Heat Transfer Vinyl Flocked and cut with your cameo or portrait.

Peel off the excess vinyl from the backing sheet and weed the remainder of the excess vinyl.

Step Two

Using a hot iron, a Teflon sheet and a flat surface, apply heat to the vinyl, and once cooled peel off the backing sheet to reveal the adhered vinyl to your fabric.

Step Three

Turn the pouch right sides together so your motif is now facing inwards.  Fold over approximately 1" and press. Sew up the two long sides of the pouch and stop just under the turn.

Turn  the pouch inside out and press the four raw edges, and sew these down to create a clean edge on all sides of the opening. Sew both folds along the long edges creating a channel for the ribbon to be passed through.

Secure the ribbon to a safety pin and pass it through the channels you have created.  Secure the ends of the ribbon together in a knot and clip the edges.

And your pouch is now complete! ready for filling with sun cream, change for ice creams and anything else you may need to have fun in the sun!

I have really enjoyed sharing with you and can't wait to see the designs you create with this design of the week!
