Design of the Week - A Clean House is a Happy House

This week's free Design of the Week is a cute little quote contained within a house shape. I very much relate to this quote so have made a couple of projects with it.

First up I have made a scrapbook layout.
What you will need:
Silhouette Cameo or Portrait
Silhouette sketch pens
Various patterned papers
Sticky foam pads
Your photos and embellishments

Step 1:I wanted to cut the roof of the house and the words out of a white cardstock background, however I relised that if I were to cut the house shape as well the shape wouldn't work as a background. I re-sized the file and placed it on my background where I wanted it, then ungrouped it. I then just selected the house shape (not the words or the roof) and went to cut settings and selected 'no cut'. This greyed out just that part of the file. I then send the file to Silhouette and it just cut the roof and the words. I did NOT unload my cutting mat at this point.

Step 2: I then selected the whole file and selected 'no cut' and the whole design was greyed out. I then selected just the house shape again and selected 'cut'. This meant the whole design was greyed out apart from the house shape. I took out my blade and replaced it with a sketch pen, selected 'sketch pen' from the Material Type, and sent to Silhouette. Hey presto, it drew the house shape with a blue sketch pen, making this design work perfectly as a background after all.

Step 3: I then backfilled the roof and each individual letter with different patterend papers and sticky foam pads and then I built the rest of my layout using various papers, my photos and quite a few embellishments.

For my second (very quick and easy  project) I cut the same shape in silver vinyl, weeded out the letters and used Transfer Paper to stick the vinyl design onto my utility cleaning cupboard - a very perfect place for this design lol!

This design was fun to use and has loads of potential. What will you make?
